Lets look beyond Mugabe and Tsvangirai - Knight

Former Radio Two disk Jockey Eric Knight has reiterated his call for Zimbabweans to look beyond President Robert Mugabe and MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai indicating that he respects the two leaders but the fact was that they can not solve the country's problems alone.
Knight through his Facebook post said he noticed that due to different levels of understanding there were unfortunately a few people who think his previous day post about the crisis in the country was meant to attack the persons of the leaders Morgan Tsvangirai and President Robert Mugabe.
"Not only is this a misconception but it is a misconstruement of a simple message," he said.
"May I advise all who mis-understood me that I am simply saying the 2 leaders can not solve the Zim crisis just by themselves. It is a national crisis and not a Zanu PF or MDC problem. I repeat that leaders come and go but Zimbabwe will remain, hence my point that let's look beyond these 2 men. I respect Baba Mugabe and Baba Tsvangirai so much that to me they will remain political icons."
He said he met both of them on different occasions and still hold them with high esteem in their respective offices.
"I therefore will not tolerate anyone who will insult or disrespect either of them on my pages," he said. "Critising them yes you can, just like any other public figure they are not immune, I am also inevitably open to criticism and that can not be stopped. I am not creating a platform for people to insult such elderly people."
He said it is uncultural and unbiblical to dishonour and disrespect the elderly. Let's not forget these men are parents of other people, they are probably old enough to be our fathers and grand fathers.
"I will never insult either of them but each time I meet them I will always suggest to them what I think is good for our country and I will always make sure I make it known to them what I stand for..God and the people," said Knight.
"I am not a political guru but I am conscious and mature enough to know and see when things are not right. Its not about a Party, a person but a nation. I don't subscribe to personality politics but patriotic politics. I pray that at least for now, differences aside,Parties aside, personalities aside and let's sit down and put Zimbabwe first. And you guys surrounding Baba Mugabe and Baba Tsvangirai, don't mislead and misinform them."
Knight said things are bad and we need a change in thinking, attitudes and let's be objective.
"I don't care and I don't want any position if my people are in hell. We are uplifted to lift up others and if we can't do the latter, there is no point. Leadership is not a position, it is a responsibility," he said.
"People will only follow you when they know where you are going to. I ask, dear esteemed Leaders, where are you taking us to?"
