A Kadoma-based business couple faces arrest and civil imprisonment for a US$150 000 debt which they have failed to pay back to a local bank Tetrad Investment.
The bank approached the High Court seeking the enforcement of summons for civil imprisonment against Jameson and Anny Rushwaya, following a High Court judgement of the 14th of January last year.
The High Court ordered the couple to pay approximately US$150 000 together with interest at the rate of 23 percent per annum from the 18th of May 2013 to date of full and final payment.
the couple is also set to lose its 4 thousand square meter bulawayo property stand number 265 matshemhlope township after justice joseph mafusire ruled it had to be executed for sale for the recovery of the debt.
According to the court papers, in August 2010, the couple's firm, Tolrose Investment entered into a written loan facility agreement in terms of which Tetrad Bank advanced a lease finance facility in the sum of US$400 000.
