Over hundred survivors of Zanu-PF's Gukurahundi in Silobela remain traumatised by the torture, murder and rape of their relatives.
Anadi Sululu has made several visits in his Constituency to affected families in solidarity with them and also speak on the need for reconcialiation and healing to look forward to a brighter future ahead.
Sululu made the visits to areas such as Jackson, Lower Gwelo, Maboleni, talking with the forgotten victims of severe human abuse. The victims had never received any restitution to their burnt homes even in the form of counselling from the responsible Zanu-PF government who caused the massacres.
'The organ of National Healing and Reconciaiation should be visible in rural areas like Gukuraundi, it is centralised in towns yet the victims are down here," reiterated Silulu.
"My constituency is eager to hold meetings with Sekai Holland, and Zanu-PF's Nkomo, because they have been neglected and deserted for the past two decades. The people and the community suffered and they need rehabilitation".
In an interview with Dube Ndabazezwe, one of the survivors said that during the Gukuraundi era his house was burnt to ashes and he had to skip villages to save his life. Suspected Zapu activists were abducted, tortured and thousands killed.
"I witnessed the brutality. People were tortured, raped and some killed. l survived by the grace of God'
"There was a headmaster named Baleln at St Dominic Primary School whom we don't know his whereabouts to date," said Dube. The visits come at a time when the MDC is advocating for reconcialiation in order to build a peaceful, democratic and prosperous Zimbabwe.
