ZIMBABWE Open University (ZOU)'s part time tutors in Mashonaland West Province have downed tools in protest over non-payment of salaries since last year.
One of the tutors who spoke on condition of anonymity said they would continue boycotting classes until they had been paid outstanding salaries dating to the second semester of last year.
"We will not resume lessons if they don't pay us, how can they fail to pay us when students are not allowed to attend lessons without paying fees? Where is the money going when they are not paying us?" the tutor asked.
The tutors said the university owed them money ranging from $300 upwards depending on individuals and modules.
Contacted for comment yesterday, ZOU director of communication Ndai Nyamakura played down the issue saying the misunderstanding had been resolved.
