Property worth $78 900 belonging to the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is set to go under the hammer to reimburse Mutare businessman, Blessing Mangwiro, whose money was seized by police as an exhibit while he was being investigated for theft seven years ago.
Mangwiro recently obtained a writ of execution against ZRP's movable property to recover his money.
In his initial application at the High Court, Mangwiro claimed he had lost over $1 million to police in 2008, but the High Court dismissed his other demands and ruled that he should be given back $78 900.
The court order came after Mangwiro had been acquitted of the theft charges levelled against him.
