Zimpraise Choir were last week dealt a major blow as they missed out on the just-ended Megafest conference in America after they failed to secure visas to enter that country.

The group had been invited by Bishop Thomas Dexter "TD" Jakes who was mesmerised by their performance at another conference in the UK last year. He was also meant to sponsor part of their trip.

Tendai Kevin Zhou, one of the choir members said: "As the Zimpraise Global organisation, we'd like to thank Bishop TD Jakes and his team for tirelessly trying their best to speed up administrative processes, furthermore for extending such an invitation to us.

"It's with sincerity that we advise you that Zimpraise choir will not be able to make it this year for the Megafest."

However, all hope is not lost as the group which had hoped to stage some shows in America, is going ahead with those plans with indications that Bishop TD Jakes is eager to see them perform.

"We didn't fail, we just didn't have some documents needed in time. We've moved the dates and the same team is going. We've been given few dates options which we're discussing, that's why Bishop TD Jakes insisted I come even without the team," said Zimpraise chief executive officer, Joseph Madziyire.

For now, the group is working on organising a music festival in Harare.

"We're working on our gospel and music festival which will take place in Harare from October 8-10 at the Rainbow Towers," Madziyire said.
