Democracy has failed in Zimbabwe

A political commentator Obert Mundevere Ncube has said removing President Robert Mugabe from the helm is impossible as democracy has failed in Zimbabwe which needs people to be vigilant and engage in other forms of action to change the status qou.

"I am just waiting to hear someone say he or she is ready," he said.

"The citizens have to realize that without action, nothing will ever change in Zimbabwe."

He said removing Mugabe through the ballot box under the prevailing conditions is nothing but a fallacy, a dream that will never be attained.

"Diplomacy has failed in Zimbabwe, Unity governments have failed in Zimbabwe. Mugabe continues to rule with impunity," Ncube said. "It is now time for the citizens to realize that our only chance now lies in our own hands."

He asked as to what does it take really to march to the State House and hold Mugabe accountable to the citizens?

"Is it transport money? I am willing to raise the funds to transport each and every Zimbabwean that wants to converge at the state house. I am just not hearing anyone come forward and say we are ready," Ncube said.
