A 73-YEAR-OLD self-styled spirit medium, Kajahwo Chingodza, who claimed he was instructed by his ancestral spirits to invade a plot belonging to the family of former Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office Jameson Timba, was on Monday issued with a warrant of arrest after failing to turn up for his trial.
Chingodza is being charged alongside his three followers Dzongodza Taonezvi (63), Peter Zindoma (79) and Dadirai Chakanetsa (42).
The four men were reported to police by Paul Timba, who is the legal owner of the plot, but the case has been postponed on a number of occasions following Chingodza's excuses and claims that he was still searching for the "best" lawyer in the country.
Last week, Chingodza was given a final warning by provincial magistrate, Milton Serima, who told him he would proceed with the trial even if he was to appear in court without a lawyer. However, Chingodza and his accomplices failed to turn up for the trial, leaving the court with no option, but to issue him with a warrant of arrest.
