Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko has implored Epworth constituency residents to vote for the Zanu PF candidate in the parliamentary by-elections slated for the 19th of next month.
Mphoko, who was speaking at a star rally held in Epworth to garner support for Zanu PF candidate, Zalera Makari said the ruling party is a tried and tested party with the interests of the people at heart.
He underscored the importance of voting for a candidate who will be able to carry the people's concerns to the top levels of the party and government.
Zanu PF National Political Commissar, Saviour Kasukuwere told the people of Epworth that there are plans to elevate the local board to town status.
He urged residents to be wary of land barons who are stealing using the party's name.
Zanu PF Politburo member, who is also the Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr David Parirenyatwa, who earlier on toured all the three clinics in Epworth, assured residents that health service provision is set to improve as Epworth Polyclinic is being expanded and will soon have admission facilities.
The Zanu PF candidate for Epworth, Makari said she is going round all the 25 districts that make up Epworth constituency and people's concerns will be addressed at top party level where she is representing them.
Other speakers at the campaign rally who included Zanu PF Acting Harare Provincial Chairman, Charles Tawengwa and Zanu PF Deputy Political Commissar, Omega Hungwe urged voters to support the revolutionary party whose record speaks for itself.
Five Zanu PF candidates who contested in the Epworth Constituency primary elections together with Makari also attended the rally and pledged to work together with the candidate who won the primaries.
The Epworth constituency seat fell vacant after the death of Amos Midzi who died in June this year.
