Chivi North youths in Masvingo have appealed for funding to push their newly established irrigation schemes as the province is hard hit by serious drought and is allegedly marginalised by the government.

The Zimbabwe United Democratic Advocates (ZUDA) member Godknows Hungwe Bvute posted on Facebook that it was appealing to the fellow Zimbabweans and kinsmen as youths of Chivi North in Masvingo province have came up with plan to establish the irrigations schemes in their community since they were affected by drought almost every year after year.

"We hardly get assistance from our local government and the government at large yet we pay tax without arrears (cattle tax, field tax, VAT and sometimes scorch cut tax )," he said.

"I post this to ask for assistance in any form but all is needed is fences , pipelines, sprinklers or siphons, water pumps and cement to upgrade the current dam walls to extend their capacity."
