Glen Norah residents in Harare have accused Councillors in Glen Norah B and A of corruption in which they claim the local district officers is also involved.
Harare Residents Trust indicated that residents in Glen Norah have raised serious concerns on the alleged corrupt tendencies of councillors in Glen Norah B and A with the alleged involvement of the local district officer.
"There are illegal houses that were built in the wetland between Chembira Community Hall and Glen Norah A Community Hall commonly identified as Zvimba reportedly under a man only identified as Chief Kunaka," said the Trust.
"Reports from residents indicate that the houses were constructed on top of water and sewer lines, causing repeated bursts along Zvimba Street near the Glen Norah A Community Hall. These illegal occupants have reportedly been issued with an eviction order from the High Court but they have been reportedly paying bribes to senior council officials to ensure their illegal properties are left."
