Teenager up for attempted rape

A boy aged 17 allegedly hit a woman's private parts with a solar lantern after she refused to have sex with him.
The boy from Manyame Park in Harare appeared before Mbare magistrate Precious Muzondo facing charge of attempted rape. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody to September 7 for trial.
The court heard that on August 20 the boy went to the woman's place of residence where he tried to force her to sleep with him but she refused.
It is alleged he became angry and he took a solar latent and hit the woman on her private part for refusing to open her legs.
He assaulted her while trying to force her stripe off her short.
She sustained serious injuries and is currently admitted at the Harare Hospital.
