Man gets three months for humiliating ex-wife

A man from Chikanga was sentenced to pay $150 or spend three months in jail for humiliating his former wife.
Itai Kangwende was convicted on his own plea by Mutare senior magistrate Sekai Chiundura for sending abusive messages to his ex-wife Joyce Kangwende through mobile phone on August 15 2015.
The court heard that he sent the messages so as to cause emotional pain to her after she had refused to give him custody of their child.
Itai said he had asked for the child during the holiday but Joyce refused and that angered him. He said he was not aware that he was committing an offence.
