Gumbura back in court tomorrow

The trial of Robert Martin Gumbura and eight others accused of attempting to escape from lawful custody has been postponed to tomorrow (Wednesday).

The trial was postponed after magistrate Tendai Mahwe recused himself after indicating that he had presided over another matter in which he dismissed the accused's constitutional application.

Another magistrate, Francis Mapfumo is expected to preside over the case.

24 witnesses have been lined up to testify in the matter.

Lucky Mhungu and Lucky Matambanadzo are some of the accused persons who are alleged to have participated in the attempted jail break at Chikurubi Maximum Prison in March this year.
