Kombi accident kills three

Three people died while several others were injured when a Marondera-bound commuter omnibus was involved in an accident with an Isuzu truck and a haulage truck on the 66km peg at the Police Projects Farm along the Harare-Mutare highway.

The driver of the haulage truck Virimayi Masocha who escaped unhurt says the driver of the kombi who was speeding failed to stop when the Isuzu truck in front of him put hazards indicating that there were cattle crossing and hit the truck from before colliding head on with the haulage truck.

The driver of the Isuzu Tapfumaneyi Manzira who also escaped unhurt says he saw cattle crossing the road and put some hazards to warn the kombi behind but the driver failed to stop.

Those injured were taken to Marondera Hospital while bodies of the deceased have also been taken to Marondera Hospital Mortuary.
