Zimbabweans marked the United Nations International Day of Victims of Enforced Disappearance with prayers amid revelations Bishop Magaya delivered the prayers for the abducted citizens.
Zimbabwe Human Rights Lawyers Communications Officer Kumbirai Mafunda posted on Facebook that Bishop Magaya delivered prayers as Zimbabweans marked the United Nations International Day of Victims of Enforced Disappearances which is marked on 30 August every year at a prayer meeting held at the Anglican Cathedral Church where survivors of abduction and enforced disappearances recounted the horror which they were subjected to at the time when they were disappeared between October to December 2008.
"Representatives of human rights organisations civic society denounced enforced disappearances and urged the government to ratify, domesticate and implement the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Protection of all Persons from Enforced Disappearances," said Mafunda.
