A man from Mbare assaulted a police officer who tried to restrain him when he was assaulting his wife.
Paul Mhande (28) pleaded guilty to assaulting a peace officer when he appeared before Mbare magistrate Bianca Makwande.
It is the state case that on August 30 Mhande was assaulting his wife when constable Shava tried to stop him.
Mhande allegedly slapped Shava several times in the face and grabbed him by the collar.
Shava reported the matter to other police officers who arrested Mhande.
