A man from Harare has appeared before the Civil Court seeking downward variation of maintenance for his child saying he had been fired from work.
Jonathan Chavarwisa applied for lighter order for his child with Lucy Zvanyadza.
He was earlier ordered to pay $85 but he failed for four months and offered to pay $20 per month saying he had been fired from work since July.
But former wife said he still works for a tobacco company.
The magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi granted the variation but ordered him to pay $50.
