Man bashes wife for receiving love text from his friend

Nhamo Furikiya (37) from Mbare was sentenced to six months in jail for assaulting his wife Nomatter Choto after he found a love message from his own friend and suspected that she was having an extra marital affair.
Four months of the sentence were suspended for 140 hours of community service at Beatrice Hospital.
Prosecutor Yvonne Gurira said on August 26 at 11 am Furikiya saw love text from Nomater Choto's mobile which she received from his friend.
He suspected his wife had an affair with the friend. He attacked her with a shovel several times before stabbing her with broken bottle on her back. She reported the matter to the police leading to his arrest.
