MPs, councillors accused of pestering students for sex

Four female child MPs in Masvingo have made chilling allegations against three Zanu-PF MPs and some councillors in Masvingo Province who are pestering them for sex.
Some of the accused MPs are from Bikita.
The Junior MPs whose names are withheld to protect them from stigmatisation have mentioned two MPs and a Deputy Minister who allegedly promised to support their projects only on condition that they submit to sex.
The Mirror conducted two of the accused MPs for comment and none refuted or confirmed the allegations.
They both advised The Mirror against publishing the story.
One of the accused politicians allegedly caresed a Junior MP's hand.
The first MP The Junior MPs' told The Mirror that they are running some projects as obligated them by Junior Parliament. When they implement these projects, they approach senior MPs for support and advice and it is then that they are asked for sex first.
Also mentioned as culprits are some councillors from Chiredzi.
The pestered students come from different districts including Masvingo Urban, Bikita and Chiredzi.
The board chair of the Zimbabwe National Council for the Welfare of Children, Alderman Lungani Zwangovani expressed shock at the allegations and promised to make immediate investigations.
"We haven't received such reports yet but I promise to investigate the issue. This is a serious issue that will affect us negatively and the President will not be happy if he hears this.
"I will definitely talk to the girls. Their complaints are a red flag that should see us taking action as soon as possible. Right now I am in Gwanda. Just give me a week, we would have dealt with the issue," said Lungani.
One of the girls said she was looking for donations and an MP arranged to meet her at NSSA Building in Masvingo to discuss the issue. When she got there the MP instead proposed love to her while holding and caresing the inside of her hand.
"He called and asked me to meet him at NSSA Building in town. When I got there he asked me to get into the car while holding my hand and caresing inside it. The other one called and asked me if those who elected us into Junior Parliament were choosing us for body structure and beauty," she alleged.
