Police have launched a manhunt for two women who allegedly indecently assaulted a 29-year-old man at gunpoint after offering him a lift from Magunje Growth Point to Karoi last Saturday. Chief police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the incident yesterday.

"Police are investigating a case of aggravated indecent assault in which two women ordered a 29-year-old man to engage in sex with one of them while the other one was holding a pistol," she said.

Snr Asst Comm Charamba said on September 4 at around 9am the complainant (name withheld) boarded a grey Toyota Raum without registration plates. The vehicle was being driven by a middle-aged woman who was in the company of another woman.

They offered the man a lift at Magunje Growth Point pretending to be travelling to Karoi town where the man was heading. When they approached the 208 kilometre peg along the Harare-Chirundu Road, the driver stopped the vehicle purportedly to check for a tyre puncture.

They then resumed the journey before turning into a bushy area where they drove for about 10 kilometres. One of the women produced a pistol and ordered the complainant to swallow a blue tablet before taking turns to have unprotected sex with him without his consent.

The two dumped the complainant and drove away in their vehicle. He managed to report the case at a police station. Snr Asst Comm Charamba appealed to the public for anyone with information leading to the arrest of the accused persons to contact the National Complaints Desk on (04) 703631, or report to any nearest police station.
