Chizhanje V Section in Harare goes for 3 months without un-emptied septic tanks

Harare Residents Trust has revealed that residents at Chizhanje V Section have gone for 3 months without their septic tanks being emptied.

The Trust said residents have constantly reported to the Mabvuku district office but the officials have not taken action.

"When the HRT went to the area, we found out that residents are now using bush toilets. The HRT reported to the District Office and was referred to Nenyere Department," said the Trust.

"The Nenyere Department said it is the Waste Management's responsibility. This reflects the confusion within the Council Officials."

The Trust said the procedure must be the District Officer after receiving report from residents must write a works order to Nenyere which then gives the works order to Waste Management but all this did not happen reflects poor communication and coordination within council Departments.
