WAR Veterans minister Christopher Mutsvangwa yesterday ordered Zanu-PF national commissar Saviour Kasukuwere to publicly apologise for describing the ex-freedom fighters as "drunkards and taxi drivers".
Addressing a war veterans' provincial meeting in Mutare, Mutsvangwa said he had taken up the matter with President Robert Mugabe and would continue pushing for Kasukuwere to withdraw his offensive remarks.
"There was a Cabinet minister who said war veterans are drunkards. I told the President about that and l am saying that he should apologise. We are not going forgive him if does not apologise. We did not know about taxi drivers or drunkards during the war. But, however, l am worried about our welfare, I think this is one major thing that should be addressed," he said.
Mutsvangwa appealed to war veterans to remain united and stop picking unnecessary fights.
