INCESSANT witchcraft accusations from his brother's sons left a Marange man with no option but to approach the civil courts for a protection order.
Hardwork Munyu appeared before Yeukai Chigodora with a plea for protection against Gift, Shakespeare and Trust Munyu - his late brother's sons - whom he said were accusing him of witchcraft.
"I started having problems with my nephews just after their father's death in 2012. What happened is that during that year a total of five family members died. In 2013 three more died. Last year, we lost three more and this year, one family member has passed on. The problem is that I am being accused of causing these deaths.
"In a bid to make things right, we went to Mafararikwa where five prophets prophesied that I was the culprit and tried to exorcise the demons in me. Ever since the visit to Mafararikwa, my nephews have been threatening to kill me. Nowadays, murder cases are on the rise and I just want to be safe because I don't know what these children are planning," said Hardwork.
In response to their uncle's claim, the three nephews denied ever threatening to kill him.
"We never threatened our uncle with death, even after everything we heard from the prophets. The only problem we are having with him is that he is refusing to hand over our father's sewing machines which he inherited when he died," said Gift on behalf of his brothers.
Mrs Chigodora granted the order, telling Gift and his brothers to desist from the habit of threatening their uncle.
