The Welshman Ncube led MDC Matabeleland South proportional representation member Mrs Priscillah Misihairabwi-Mushonga, faces recall from Parliament after the party's youth assembly passed a resolution calling for her expulsion from the party.
The national executive of the youth assembly made the resolution yesterday following its meeting held on Friday and Saturday in Harare.
"We will be making recommendations to the leadership of the party that the former secretary-general Mrs Priscillah Misihairabwi-Mushonga be expelled from the party and be recalled from Parliament," said Mr Gideon Mandaza the party youth assembly chairperson at a Press conference yesterday.
Allegations against Mrs Misihairabwi-Mushonga are that she was not representing the people of Matabeleland South properly and was sowing divisions and confusion in the party.
"We have received information that she is working tirelessly to have people abandon the party and that she is hardly known in Matabeleland South. She does not interact with people from the province so whose interests is she representing?" he added.
Mr Mandaza added that Mrs Misihairabwi-Mushonga had instigated the recent resignations of national executive members Mr Lionel Deneka, Josh Muhambi and Sibongile Mgijima.
Other senior MDC members that have resigned include former national chairman Mr Goodrich Chimbaira who quit and rejoined the MDC-T led by Morgan Tsvangirai after he had earlier been suspended on accusation of gross misconduct.
Mr Frank Chamunorwa, the former national vice chairperson also quit the party. Mrs Misihairabwi-Mushonga refused to comment on the matter yesterday.
"I am hearing it from you for the first time, but I don't have any comment to make," she said.
Mrs Misihairabwi-Mushonga has been dogged by controversy since she was nominated to represent Matabeleland South under proportional representation.
Mrs Misihairabwi-Mushonga resigned as the MDC secretary- general in February this year after a fall-out with party leader Prof Ncube.
