Morgan Tsvangirai MDC-T leader was last week forced to intervene and block a move by angry party councillors who wanted to kick out Harare mayor Bernard Manyenyeni accusing him of belittling them.

The party's spokesperson Obert Gutu yesterday said that Tsvangirai had to call warring parties to order as tempers flared at Town House.

Contacted for comment Manyenyeni confirmed the feud had been resolved but insisted he never insulted his colleagues.

Meanwhile, the Harare Mayor Bernard Manyenyeni has been caught in a storm that nearly cost him his job.

About 45 councillors from the MDC T led Harare City Council plotted to oust the mayor and took the issue up to their party calling for a vote of no confidence.

Only three councillors refused to sign the petition for a vote of no confidence on the mayor.
