Heads are set to roll within President Robert Mugabe's office after the 91-year-old ruler read a wrong speech at official opening of the Third Session of the Eighth Parliament today.
Mugabe instead read the same speech which he delivered during the State of the Nation Address that he presented before Parliament about three weeks ago.
Presidential spokesperson George Charamba appeared to have alerted Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa about the mistake, but no action was taken to avoid embarrassing the 91 year old leader.
Charamba issued an apology: There has been a mix up of speeches resulting in a situation where his Excellency the President delivered the wrong speech.
"The mix up happened in his secretarial office therefore the delivery in Parliament should be set aside.
"The error is sincerely regretted and corrective measures are being considered".
