A Zvishavane man who had visited his ex-wife with the intention of giving her Cerelac for their baby was recently assaulted by the wife's new live-in boyfriend for overstaying at the later's lodgings.

Elfas Chidoko of Makwasha had brought Cerelac for the baby.

The court heard that at sometime not known to the prosecutor Chidoko who was living with his wife ........in Maglas discovered his wife was having an affair with his neighbour Tompson Nyoni.

Chidoko decided to relocate to Makwasha to stop the affair.

Unfortunately the love affair did not end as the wife went back to Maglas after a few months to stay with her boyfriend.

The two allegedly landed on hard times and the wife decided to call her ex-husband and ask for Cerelac for the child.

Prosecutor Sternly Ncube told the court that on August 15, 2015 Chidoko went to her ex-wife's place to give her the Cerelac meant for their child. Chidoko is said to have stayed longer than expected and the lover got back home and found him relaxing in the comfort of his sofa.

Tompson with the help of his brother Poster Chidoko then allegedly assaulted Chidoko. Chidoko then escaped and reported the matter to the Police.
