Mugabe embarrassing Zimbabwe says Eric Knight

Former Radio Zimbabwe Presenter Eric Knight has described President Robert Mugabe's wrong speech reading as embarrassing the nation and raising a lot of questions about the state of his head.
Mugabe on Tuesday read the wrong speech to completion at parliament without even noticing it was wrong.
"One of the most popular topics of discussion today is about our President Robert Mugabe reading a wrong speech in Parliament yesterday," said Knight.
"It is indeed an embarassing incident that raises a lot of questions not just about the Head of State, but also the state of his head."
He said many wonder what was he thinking but for me, it is not Baba Mugabe alone who should be answerable for this gaffe. Yes at that age it is not abnormal to misread things.
"Even Pastors do read wrong verses in church unintentionally. I am in fact very perplexed and disappointed more by two sets of people in this regard," Knight said.
"Firstly, his Secretary or the entire department who prepares and hands over his speeches. I know there are people who are employed in that capacity and paid handsomely to write and prepare Presidential speeches. Secondly, I will not absolve the Members of Parliament who were clapping and cheering him as he obliviously read through a wrong speech."
He asked as to why people were listening.
"Did they deliberately leave the old man in order to expose him?" he said.
"Were they too afraid to press the alarm button? Unobvunza ani/Uzabuza bani but someone has to answer otherwise the only logic thing is heads have to roll. You can't dismiss this such complacency on state duties otherwise this amounts to an unacceptable level of insolence. God bless Zimbabwe! God bless Africa!"
