A Mutare man was last week ordered to live peacefully with his mother whom he constantly assaulted. Mutare magistrate Mrs Anniah Ndiraya told Welencia Mabvira that he should behave himself and respect elders.
Mabvira (17) was dragged to court by his mother Nora Mabvira (36) who had approached the courts seeking a peace order against his violent son.
Asked why he behaves badly he heaped the blame on his mother.
"We quarrelled and it resulted in assault. I missed my jacket and I thought she stole it.
"Since she has a tendency of misplacing my clothes I thought she did the same," he said.
Allegations were that on August 3 this year at around 2pm Welencia came home at Number 205 New Dangare, Sakubva and approached his mother accusing her of stealing his jacket he had left on the drying line.
He then assaulted his mother.
In granting the peace order Mrs Ndiraya warned him against assaulting his mother.
"Go and change your behaviour and respect your mother. Your own biological mother cannot do bad things to you. If your mother appears here again praying for an eviction order we will grant her," she said.
