Dr Sikhanyiso Ndlovu has been laid to rest

National hero, Dr Sikhanyiso Ndlovu has been laid to rest at the National Heroes Acre in Harare today.
In his speech during the burial, President Robert Mugabe said Dr Ndlovu's commitment and dedication to the protracted struggle for Zimbabwe's independence shall be remembered forever.
He added that Dr Ndlovu was successful in government both as a Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education and Minister of Information at various points in his career.
Mugabe highlighted that Dr Ndlovu survived incarceration in the hands of the Ian Smith regime in several detention centres among them the notorious Gonakudzingwa camp.
He said the Ndlovu family should take solace in that Dr Ndlovu left a free, and educated Zimbabwe.
Earlier on, the body of Dr Ndlovu was taken to Stodart Hall in Mbare where Zimbabweans had a chance to bid farewell to the son of the soil.
The former cabinet minister and Zanu PF Politiburo member succumbed to stroke on Tuesday at Materdei Hospital in Bulawayo.
