Red Cross officially hands over Chivi Water and Sanitation project

The Red Cross Society of Zimbabwe and its partners have officially handed over the Chivi Water and Sanitation project to the community.
It was joy for the villagers who are pleased their quality of life will improve for the better.
"The project was completed after four years and is part of the organisation's nationwide humanitarian efforts to improve the quality of life of vulnerable communities," said Reuben Mkandla, the Red Cross Society of Zimbabwe Vice President.
The Chivi community will now have access to safe water and sanitation, noted the Minister of State for Masvingo Province, Cde Shuvai Mahofa, who was represented by the Assistant Provincial Administrator, Mr Godfrey Chipika.
Meanwhile, the Red Cross Society of Zimbabwe and the Civil Protection Department joined forces to train villagers in Chingwizi to manage disaster.
The training programme was conducted at Chingwizi where people who were displaced by the construction of Tokwe-Mukosi dam are living.
