Local Government minister Saviour Kasukuwere has set his eyes on Chitungwiza following chaotic events in the last few weeks that led to the firing of chamber secretary Priscilla Vengesai.
Vengesai was fired for allegedly being inconsistent with her contract, as she was calling for the removal of mayor Philip Mutoti for failing to run the dormitory town.
Councillors loyal to her said she was the only voice of reason within the local authority and was being persecuted by those who want to promote corruption and looting pleading with Kasukuwere to intervene.
Meanwhile, the Zanu-PF national commissar Saviour Kasukuwere has declared that it is taboo for any official in Zanu-PF to dream of taking over power rom President Mugabe as long as he is still alive.
Kasukuwere said ousted VP Mujuru's allies were holding secret meetings with United States diplomats at her private residence. President Mugabe has ruled Zimbabwe since the country's independence in 1980.
