Harare residents complain of an array of shortcomings by the local authority

Harare Residents have complained of an array of short comings by the Harare City council during the outreach budget consultation meetings.

Harare Residents Trust said the Residents in different wards raised several issues that they complained council is ignoring and not addressing for several years now, despite the fact that every single year residents raise the same issues.

"The HRT noted the following priorities from residents,  fix water bursts, road rehabilitation, refuse collection, sewerage reticulation, provide facilities for people living with disabilities to access facilities easily in public areas and offices, water provision, and improve water quality, decrease Council personnel costs, housing provision, rehabilitate recreational facilities, provide solar lights in residential streets, drainage clearance, provision of Council Primary Schools that are affordable to residents, provision of public toilets, provide vending sites, equipped with shades and  provision of more solar robots," said the trust.
