Expelled Zimbabwe white farmers to escalate fight

The white commercial farmers who this week successfully had Zimbabwe's government property in Cape Town auctioned said the will continue piling pressure on Harare for compensation.

The farmer's legal representative, Willie Spies, said that the farmers were not pacified by the sale of the property and were gunning for more of the country's properties abroad.

The development is likely to unsettle Harare especially after ZB Bank lost its bid in the United States courts against a $25 million compensation claim brought by Dutch nationals whose farms were seized in 2000.

There are fears of more claims against government and State-owned institutions for compensation of evicted farmers in offshore jurisdiction.
