The board, staff and membership of the Combined Harare Residents Association (CHRA) is deeply shocked and saddened by the sudden passing on of firebrand councillor and deputy Mayor of Harare, Councillor Thomas Muzuva.

Councillor Thomas Muzuva was a former CHRA member and remained a senior friend of the association during his tenure as councillor and deputy Mayor.

Councillor Muzuva was a leader par excellence who had an open door policy and graced countless events organised by the Association.

He is greatly remembered for his role in fighting bogus-partisan housing cooperatives particularly those that used senior government and ZANU PF officials is championing their illegal cause.

Muzuva is also remembered for the role he played in our social accountability and citizen engagement program by agreeing to meet the residents of Harare on a monthly basis together with his boss, Mayor Ben Manyenyeni.

Funeral arrangements are yet to be made and will be announced in due course.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, Famba zvakanaka Soja.
