Granny chases away lover at night, later raped

A 65 year old widow chased her boyfriend from her bedroom in the dead of the night after hearing a knock on her door but was late raped by the 24 year old fellow villager in Chikwalala.
She had panicked thinking it was one of her sons returning from South Africa.
"I advised my boyfriend to leave because I though one of my sons had arrived. I have three sons working in South Africa' she told magistrate Collet Ncube.
Prosecutor, Sophia Busvumani told the court that on Friday last week the rapist who lives in the same village with the woman went to her homestead pretending to be one of her sons.
When she opened the door, the man who was armed with a stick tripped her to the floor.
He then pulled her skirt up and raped her once.
The man remained camped at the victims homestead till dawn and repeatedly raped her while threatening her with violence if she dared scream or resist.
He only left at around 6pm.
She then made a police reported leading to the man's arrest.
He was slapped with 17 years in jail of which three months were set aside for five years.
