Harare City Council sends summons to residents

Harare City Council has been accused of sending residents summons for non payment or delay in payment of rates.
This was revealed by the Harare Residents Trust which said the move was retrogressive and unwarranted for.
"The HRT notes with concern the behavior of the City of Harare where they have resorted to sending out summons to residents for non-payment or delayed payment of outstanding debts," said the trust.
"This is not the solution; they are merely addressing a symptom of economic and social hardships affecting citizens. Residents that have been affected by this feel free to come to our offices for legal advice on how to respond to summons."
