Land baron faces $7 million fraud

Alleged land baron Frederick Mabamba who was arrested by the police on charges of swindling desperate home seekers of $7 million in dubious stands sales on state land appeared before a Harare magistrate and was granted $2 000 bail.

Mabamba, who is facing another count involving $30 000 on similar grounds appeared before Mr Tafadzwa Muvhami who additionally ordered him to report once every Friday at CID Serious Fraud.

He has been ordered to surrender his passport to the clerk of court, to reside at his given address and not to interfere with state witnesses.
