PUBLIC NOTICE: - De-registration of unlicensed vehicles

PUBLIC NOTICE
DE-REGISTRATION OF UNLICENSED VEHICLES
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructural Development, (Central Vehicle Registry and Zimbabwe National Road Administration) would like to inform the motoring public that all vehicles that have not been licensed for a period of two years will be automatically de-registered from the CVR Database.
In terms of The Vehicle Registration and Licensing Act Chapter 13:14 Section 12 Paragraph (c) and (d).
The Registrar-
(c) may. if according to his records a registered vehicle has not been licensed or exempted for a period exceeding two years; or
(d) may, if he has reasonable grounds for believing that a registered vehicle is no longer required to be registered in terms of Section Six;
Cancel the registration of the vehicle concerned.
ONCE vehicles have been de-registered, re-registration will include:
- Certificate of Road worthiness from the Vehicle Inspectorate Department (VID)
- Police clearance
- US$160 for motor vehicles and US$140 for motorcycles or trailers Re- Registration
- Clearance of outstanding vehicle license arrears
To Avoid de-registration of your vehicles, we appeal to our valued motoring public to comply by ensuring that their vehicles are properly licensed from 28th August, 2015 to 28th September, 2015.
Failure to comply within the above dates will result in the automatic de-registration of your vehicle from the CVR Database.
