Bulawayo South MP Eddie Cross (MDC) told the National Assembly that the country needed to set up a Ports Authority immediately to plug capital leakages which are being caused by delays at the Beitbridge border post.

He said the delays are costing Zimbabwe over $250 million annually, which effectively is another form of tax.

The border which is one of the busiest in Africa sees 14 million tonnes of cargo and six million people passing through each year.
