Mugabe returns to Zimbabwe from New York, US

The President Robert Mugabe has arrived back home from New York where he attended the 70th session of the UN General Assembly at the UN headquarters.

He also attended the High Level Summit which adopted the Sustainable Development Goals which replace the Millennium Development Goals whose deadline is expiring end of this year.

The President also addressed the General Assembly in the annual debate which was held under the theme: ''The UN at 70-Road to Peace, Security and Human Rights".

The President's delegation included the First Lady Amai Dr Grace Mugabe, Health and Child Care Minister Dr David Parirenyatwa, Foreign Affairs Minister Cde Simbarashe Mumbengegwi who remained behind for other meetings and Permanent Secretary for Information, Media and Broadcasting Services George Charamba.

The President was received at Harare International Airport by the two vice presidents, Emmerson Mnangagwa and Phelekezela Mphoko, service chiefs and several government ministers.

Meanwhile, Zanu PF supporters have gathered at the airport to welcome the President, and a welcome rally is now underway.
