Power outages scuttle business

Harare Residents Trust has said the Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) power outrages are disadvantaging residents.
"Residents are complaining of; loss of business to those whose business solely relies on electricity, the rotting of perishables, the damaging of electric appliances, increase in robbery cases in communities, extra pumping out of monies in purchase of alternative energy which could have been channeled to ZESA," said the trust.
"To consumers who are on prepaid meters, it is unfair, unjustified that they pay in advance for a service that they are not guaranteed, it is a serious violation of Consumer Rights and Zesa should address this urgently."
