Harare Residents Trust has revealed that residents in some parts of the city are complaining over the erection of nework boosters close to their homes without them being consulted.
"HRT has been receiving reports of erection of network boosters in communities without residents' consultation," said the trust.
"Residents complaining that the towers are devaluing their properties, installed generators at the base make noise and above all residents are worried about emission of radiation from these boosters."
The trust said in the event that residents resist the erection of the structure and the network installing it goes ahead, the department of Works is obliged to sponsor a report to the relevant committee for an enforcement order, a prohibition order and a demolition order in terms of the Regional, Town and Country Planning Act.
