A Wedza man Robert Chiguma appeared before the High Court in Harare facing two counts of murder.
According to the state case, on the 21st of October 2014, one Khawun Mpofu together with Gilbert Maweto and Phineas Chiwande, both now deceased proceeded to the accused's home in Wedza to investigate a matter involving the theft of a kitchen unit.
Upon their arrival, Mpofu positively identified his kitchen unit in the absence of the accused.
The following day, the accused learnt that two men had inquired about the kitchen unit and in a rage tracked down Maweto whom he allegedly struck several times with a log killing him in the process.
He stuffed the corpse in a fire vault and proceeded to the second deceased's house and again assaulted him several times with a sharp object killing him before allegedly dumping the body in a pool along a stream.
The two deceased remains were located on the 24th of October and the 1st of November.
In his defence, the accused represented by Joseph Razunguza seeks the quashing of the proceedings on the basis that he was forced to confess to the charges and to plead guilty against his will.
He contends he did not kill both deceased persons even though they had problems over the kitchen unit.
