Patrick Zhuwao the Youth, Indigenization and Economic Empowerment minister, who is President Robert Robert Mugabe's nephew, yesterday warned his Cabinet colleagues "who dine and wine at embassies" that their endeavors to block his proposed indigenization levy were bound to fail.

Addressing a Zanu-PF provincial co-coordinating committee meeting in Chinhoyi, Zhuwao took a swipe at some unnamed ministers for allegedly sending wrong signals to the world concerning the country's indigenization policy.

"Those are ignorant utterances from some high-level government officials including ministers, who promise to review the policy . . . That will not happen in my tenure as minister unless the people of Zimbabwe reverse that," said Zhuwao.

He said he had directed all provincial and district youth officers around the country to work hand-in-hand with Zanu-PF and all people regardless of their political affiliation.
