Zambians go to the polls this Tuesday to choose a new President with 10 contenders including incumbent Rupiah Banda vying for the top post.
Sources in Zambia say campaigns were finalised this Saturday after a period which saw some few incidences of violence being reported.
Sitting President Rupiah Bwezani Banda of the ruling Movement for Multi-Party Democracy and Patriotic Front's Michael Sata have been touted as the leading contenders.
President Banda is running for his first full term as president after replacing Levy Mwanawasa who died in August 2008.
Other Presidential candidates include UNIP's Tilyenji Kaunda, who is son to former President Kenneth Kaunda, Edith Zewelani Nawakwi of FDD, Dr Fredrick Mutesa of ZED, Elias Chipimo Jnr of NAREP, Hakainde Hichilema of UPND, Ng'andu Magande of NMP, Charles Milupi of ADD and Godfrey Miyanda of HP.
Seven other candidates vying for the same post could not make it as they failed to raise the number of supporters required.
