The MDC led by Welshman Ncube Chair man for Matabeleland South Pilate Ndebele has accused Zanu PF government of delaying to give communal farmers inputs until the ploughing season is over.
Ndebele said the government was delaying to supply communal farmers with inputs until the rainy season was over which then prompted them to sell the inputs.
He said if the government gives people inputs by end of December to February next year, those inputs will not help because the rains will be already over.
Ndebele said, "October is the time when a serious government would start giving people inputs but as we speak, here no one has received those inputs. What happens is that they usually bring the inputs by end of December to February the following year. This does not help and that is why people end up sell those inputs to those farming in irrigation."
He said government should be distributing those inputs now to help farmers start farming when the first rains fall.
