Happiness Nyakuedzwa, who was ousted as the Zanu PF Manicaland Women's League Chairperson on Sunday evening, has defied the vote of no confidence passed against her.
Nyakuedzwa today convened and chaired a provincial executive meeting in Mutare which reversed the vote of no confidence.
The executive members endorsed Nyakuedzwa as the provincial chairperson before passing a vote of no confidence in five provincial members.
The five provincial members given the vote of no confidence are Beauty Benge, Chamisa, Matsekenyere, Sanyatwa and Mazviwanza.
Nyakuedzwa, who chaired the meeting, later read the resolutions which were agreed upon by the members.
Other members of the provincial executive distanced themselves from signing the petition in support of the decision to relieve Nyakuedzwa of her duties, alleging that half of the signatures on the petition were forged.
The Zanu PF Women's League national executive member and Politburo member, Monica Mutsvangwa who attended the meeting with other national executive members said cadres who are fuelling divisions and destabilising the party in the province are wasting their time.
Nyakuedzwa had been ousted on Sunday evening after being accused of fanning factionalism in the province and other allegations of gross misconduct and indiscipline.
