PROFESSOR Jonathan Moyo's daughter, Nokuthula, last night had a shock encounter at an airport with the man suspected to have had a hand in her sister's death.
Nokuthula was travelling to Zimbabwe from Cape Town via OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg when she came face-to-face with Stephen Kenneth Newman Chitobolo, the last person to see 20-year-old Zanele alive.
Zanele, a student at the University of Cape Town, was found dead in a pool of blood in her apartment last Saturday morning. She is thought to have died on Wednesday night, last week, after going on a dinner date with Stephen.
Her body is due to arrive at 1.30PM today at the Harare International Airport. Family friend Phillip Chiyangwa said Nokuthula, who was travelling with Zanele's high school friends Rumbidzai Choto and Nicole Bento, was shocked to see Stephen, who is being sought by Western Cape Police.
Rumbidzai, who introduced Zanele to Stephen's friend, Leo Milimo, before he in turn introduced her to Stephen, pointed him out. "What are the chances of Zanele's sister meeting this man at a very busy airport 1,400km away from the scene where her sister died? I'm not too big on the supernatural, but you must think it's Zanele's spirit at work," Chiyangwa said.
The millionaire businessman said police were informed of the sighting. Chiyangwa, a businessman, is expected to join Prof Moyo, family lawyer Terrence Hussein and the minister's son-in-law Tafadzwa Wakatama today as they accompany Zanele's body to Harare ahead of her burial at Glen Forest at 2PM on Friday.
